The 2014 Breeders Cup Classic post position draw took place on Monday.  You can find all the latest Breeders Cup Classic odds at Bookmaker.eu here and receive up to $2500 in FREE CASH.

So how important is the post position draw when it comes to the Breeders Cup when compared to races like the Kentucky Derby where the starting positions are considered significant?

It matters for some of the horses.

For example, trainer Art Sherman and jockey Victor Espinoza were hopeful of a post position away from the inside for Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner California Chrome.

He raced poorly from the rail in the Belmont Stakes and particularly in the Pennsylvania Derby, a result of being boxed in.  That won’t be an issue with the upcoming Breeders Cup Classic.

"Thirteen is going to be good for me," Sherman said. "It's going to be different. I've never been out there yet. I'm looking for him to have a clean break, be on the outside, show some speed and get a chance to look in. Usually he has to look out and see who is coming in. But we're going to be in that position now."

"For once I get the outside," Espinoza said. "I'm always on the inside. I'm happy and I'm excited. It's a long run (to the turn). No. 13 is a good number."

Shared Belief ‘s owners are also satisfied with their entry’s post position draw at number 6.

"It's the perfect spot," said Alex Solis II, co-owner of the 2-1 favorite Shared Belief. "The whole year was based on this race and now, everyone is here and we can prove who is the best 3-year-old. Hopefully it is him.

Updated odds on the 2014 Breeders Cup will be available at Bookmaker here on Tuesday.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
