2012 Breeders Cup Classic payouts could prove more lucrative this year thanks to a number of early favorites either retiring or succumbing to injury.  The odds-on favorite, Game On Dude, will pay close to $200 for every $100 bet should he win.  All other Breeders Cup Classic contenders pay $600 or better.  Odds were courtesy of WagerWeb.com online, which offers up to 13 percent cash back on losses weekly

Game On Dude pays $175 for every $100 bet or $17.50 for every $10 bet

The $5 million Classic 1 ¼ miles race is Game on Dude’s race to lose along with Horse of the Year honors. The son of Awesome Again, who won this race in 1998, has more victories on Santa Anita’s dirt than the remainder of the field combined – three – and is 2-3-0 of 6 at the distance. The Dude worked six furlongs in 1:13 1/5 on Sunday, galloping out the mile in 1:39 1/45. The Dude will key my trifecta over Flat Out, Fort Larned, Mucho Macho Man and To Honor and Serve.

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
