Scottie Scheffler is the odds on favorite to win the 2025 PGA Championship after Day 1.  He would pay out $350 for every $100 bet.

Scheffler won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson two weeks ago and believes his play his really heating up of late.

"I talked a little bit about how I felt like my game was trending, so it was nice to see some results from a lot of hard work to start the year, and I feel like my game is in a good spot," Scheffler said about his first win of the season. "I think it would be silly to say I can't ride a little bit of that momentum going into this tournament."

Jhonattan Vegas sat atop the PGA Championship leaderboard heading into Friday's round.

Vegas played the best golf hardly anyone saw Thursday in the PGA Championship.

Two good par saves. Two short birdies. Another par save. And then three birdies at the end for a 7-under 64, giving the 40-year-old Venezuela his best score in 45 rounds at the majors and a two-shot lead on an opening day of surprises.

"Incredible," Vegas said when asked to summarize his round. "Any chance you get to shoot 64 at a major championship is always great."

Ryan Gerard was tied for second on the leaderboard and promises a payout of $3500 for every $100 bet should he go on to win.
