The price of a gallon of gas on July 31 will be between $4.50 and $4.74 nationally, this according to the expert oddsmakers at BetOnline.

The payout is $21.50 on a $10 bet but $4.75-$4.99 still pays a close price of $24 for every $10 wagered.

It's great news for motorists this summer season should BetOnline be correct.

The current national average was $4.752 as of July 7.

California, as always, was highest in the nation with an average price of $6.185 a gallon.  States like Georgia and South Carolina were inching towards the $4 mark.
