Casino creep robs elderly female

Smile, you're on casino surveillance video.

Cody Paigen, 20, of Massachusetts, has been arrested for allegedly robbing an elderly woman at Bally's Twin River Lincoln Casino on January 9.

His mugshot appears below.

He was charged with first-degree robbery over the weekend, nearly two months after the incident occurred.

Paigen, a Winchester resident, was taken to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Center where he is being held until his Monday March 9 arraignment.

The department had shared photos of the person of interest when the robbery was first reported.

The person pictured in the surveillance stills was wearing a sweatsuit and matching stocking cap, and was holding a woman's handbag.

The victim's identity has remained protected.

These Casinos Are Located in Some of the U.S. Most Seedy Areas

while this casino is located in Lincoln, Rhode Island, a suburban town north of Providence, and has relatively low violent-crime levels compared with many U.S. cities, many of the countries casinos can be found in high crime areas.

Regardless, even the most secure casinos advise to exercise caution.

Be mindful of the following:

  • Parking lots and garages are the most common location for incidents.
  • Criminals sometimes follow winners leaving with cash.
  • Studies note casinos can attract opportunistic crime simply because they bring large numbers of people carrying money late at night.

Diamond’s Casino — Reno, Nevada is often cited as being in one of the most dangerous locations.

From VegasInsider

Diamond's Casino tops the list as the most dangerous, with the highest danger score of 82.31. This casino has received 206 total reviews, 7 of which report safety concerns. Additionally, with Reno's gun ownership rate at nearly 50% and a crime score of D, the overall environment could make this location riskier for patrons.

They rank the Commerce Casino in LA as the "second most dangerous".

"Despite being one of the largest casinos in Los Angeles, Commerce Casino has a concerning danger score of 57.62. With over 900 reviews and 21 reporting danger, it’s clear that safety is a recurring theme. The lower gun ownership rate doesn’t compensate for the significant crime score, suggesting that crime could be the primary risk here."

Be careful when visiting the Goldsby Casino when in Norman, Oklahoma as well.

"Oklahoma’s Goldsby Casino might not be as large as others on this list, but it still ranks highly for danger. With a high gun ownership rate of 54.7% and 3 dangerous reviews out of 188, it is a location to approach with caution."

When in Atlantic City, don't venture too far off from the casino strip. Atlantic City’s violent-crime rate has often been 4–6× higher than the U.S. average, depending on the year.  This is one of the highest crime rates for a city of this size.  Atlantic City only has 38,000 residents.

Tunica, Mississippi ranks high on this list as well. Crime rates per capita in the region are well above the national average.
