A Broward County woman has been arrested for the fatal hit and run of a man outside the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek last Thursday.

Nadia Pierre-Louis, 25, was arrested Tuesday and charged with fleeing the scene of an accident involving a death.

57-year-old Jay Edelstein was struck around 6 am Thursday outside the casino.  He died two days later after suffering head and leg trauma.

The car believed to be involved in the crash, a gray 2003 Toyota Corolla, was found in North Lauderdale the same day as the incident.

Pierre-Louis has been deemed a flight risk after texting her boss the day after the accident saying she “needed to return to Haiti”.

"I believe that Ms. Pierre-Louis would flee our jurisdiction, if given the opportunity,” Judge Michael Davis said, adding he wasn't comfortable setting a bond but the law required it. Davis settled on a $250,000 bond, but ordered her to surrender her green card and passport.
