USMNT World Cup Odds Worsen After Roster Reveal

The U.S. men’s national team unveiled its roster for the FIFA World Cup on Tuesday, finalizing the squad that will try to capture the country its first title in the world’s biggest soccer tournament.

With names like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Folarin Balogun and Matt Freese, you might've thought the announcement would spur excitement and hopeful betting on the home team, but one sportsbook shifted USMNT's odds the other way.

"Look, at the end of the day, USA's true odds should be closer to 200/1," BetOnline Brand Manager Dave Mason said. "We saw a lot of other books drop their odds today after the roster reveal, but we bumped them from 80/1 to 100/1. That's the best number in the world so if you want some Team USA action come and get it."

USMNT now has the same chances to hoist the World Cup trophy as Turkey, Croatia, Ecuador and Senegal.
