The numbers are in and they are pretty YUGE....by our standards at least.
The death of Gaetano Milano, described by some crime family analysts as a ‘soldier’ with the Patriarca crime family, drew massive traffic to the Gambling911.com website.
This story drew an insane 264,460 impressions over a three to four day period.
The family itself ran operations in both Connecticut and Massachusetts, where much of the Gambling911 readership originated.
Milano began as a Connecticut-based Colombo mob associate, before linking up with the Patriarcas via the New Haven, CT-based William Grasso. He would also gain notoriety in the Springfield, Massachusetts area.
While working with Grasso, Milano apparently represented Patriarca ‘interests’ from New Haven, CT up thru Springfield, MA, the latter locale where he liaised with the Genovese-affiliated crew in Western MA.
At some point in his illustrious career, Milano would come to realize he was being targeted for elimination by Grasso. As such, he joined a plot to instead assassinate Grasso, becoming a prominent part of the team that murdered him in June of 1989. Grasso's killing triggered a series of events that would cripple the mob in New Haven
Milano was initially sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for his participation in this murder, but was released in 2013.
Then there was the story of a Mississippi magician sentenced to 10 years for "misleading the workers" of the Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, iowa, in ways that "included multiple outfit changes and using different tellers to remain undetected".
After evading authorities for seven years, Benward was located and arrested in Mississippi in April 2025, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
He was charged in Lyon County, Iowa with money laundering, cheating at gambling and conspiracy, although he was not returned to Iowa to stand trial until he was arrested in Mississippi in April 2025. He was convicted of 13 separate felonies at trial in November.
This story saw 178,260 impressions over a three to four day period.
Getting back down to Earth a bit, the story of a man who hit it big with his early Super Bowl future bet on the Seattle Seahawks winning the Super Bowl drew a cool 42,880 impressions in recent days.
