It's what everybody was talking about late Tuesday coming into Wednesday morning. Gambling911.com broke the story late Tuesday that former co-founder of World Sports Exchange Jay Cohen has released a book. Cohen served a nearly two year sentence for taking bets on a server from Antigua where sports betting was - and still is - legal. And while the US government contended the bets were not taking place on servers in Antigua, but rather the US, more recently, the Seminoles claim bets on their Hard Rock Bet app take place on their servers. Florida appears to agree. These are your top trending news stories from the world of gambling and sports coming into Wednesday July 23, 2025. Last 24 Hours Gambling911 Impressions: 73,393.
WSEX Co-Founder Jay Cohen Releases Book
The Jay Cohen book release has resulted in over 15,000 impressions for us here at Gambling911.com in just the last 12 hours.
Long after Cohen got out of prison, he was rumored to still be involved with World Sports Exchange. Gambling911 cannot independently confirm this to be the case.
What we do know is that WSEX would go on to begin slow paying and no-paying customers. Steve Schillinger, the only person we can definitively say was still involved with running the sportsbook, would go on to commit suicide by a gun shot to the head. That ended any chance of customers being paid.
The story has of Cohen's book release has been widely disseminated across social media, mostly courtesy of pro sports bettor Spanky. There hasn't been a whole lot negative in terms of reaction, at least not yet.
