Tomatoes

It was supposed to be a routine trip to the grocery store to buy some tomatoes.

Instead, an unidentified Ohio man ended up winning $20 on one of the lottery tickets he purchased.

That $20 was used to buy some more tickets at a Millers Market in Norwalk, Ohio.

Then it happened!

He purchased a Wild Cash Tripler and saw $120,000 on the ticket, but was confused because the back of the ticket didn't list that as a prize. It turns out he won a prize of $120,000 a year for 25 years – a $3 million equivalent.

When he delivered the tomatoes and told his girlfriend she said, “Shut up!” but then believed him because he was shaking.

The Norwalk man said that he always thought that he would be happy to win “make life easy money” and he did just that. He plans to pay off his house, go on vacation, and invest the rest.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $34 billion to education since 1974. For more information about the Ohio Lottery and its contribution to education.

How Much Money Will Ohio lottery Winner Receive?

According to the Ohio Lottery, the unidentified man elected to take the lump sum option of $1.5 million and will receive just under $1.1 million.

Can Lottery Winners Remain Anonymous in Ohio?

The winner was not identified by the Ohio Lottery (wise choice). Winners are considered public record, however they can remain anonymous by claiming the prize through a trust, according to Ohio state law.
