Million Dollar Jackpot Hits at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City on 4th of July

Who needs fireworks when you could walk away with a cool million dollars.

That's what happened this 4th of July when a lucky guest hit a $1,025,716 Slot Machine at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, New Jersey.

And to think, that money was won on a $4 bet.

The lucky guest won a wide area progressive jackpot just after midnight on Sunday, July 5 on a “Wizard of Oz – I’ll Get You My Pretty” slot machine by Light & Wonder.  The winning slot machine has a 10-cent denomination and features the face of the Wicked Witch of the West from the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie.

Wide area progressive slot machines are linked at multiple locations by slot machine companies, which pay out the progressive jackpots that increase simultaneously at various locations.

The lucky guest chose to remain anonymous.  Probably a smart move.  Officials confirmed the jackpot win with Gambling911.com.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City features an award-winning gaming floor that offers 2,298 slots, including a private high-end slot salon, plus 128 table games of poker, blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette and more.

Set on 17 acres, with the legendary Atlantic City Boardwalk as its backdrop, the music-inspired casino resort features legendary entertainment, as well as award-winning restaurants, lounges, a nightlife experience, retail shops and other amenities.

So far this year, the casino reported two New Year jackpots over $100,000, two jackpots hitting back in February for a total of $2.4 million, and three progressive slot jackpots in April totaling $953,811.
