A One Time Gambling Mecca in California is Set to Shut Down

Primm Valley Casino Resorts, the last full-time casino in the town of Primm on Interstate 15 at the California-Nevada border, is permanently closing. Termination notices were sent to employees on Tuesday. The letter, posted by Las Vegas Locally, noted that employees who work at Primm Valley are set to be terminated by July 4. Primm Valley was the last of three operating casino resorts in Primm, formerly known as State Line, that included Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s. It first opened in 1977, though the more expansive resort was added in 1990 and 1994, respectively.

Sadly, news came out Wednesday that the Kentucky Derby winner, Golden Tempo, will not be racing next Saturday in the Preakness. The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag were waiting for Golden Tempo’s announcement before opening the odds.

Gambling Regulators Probe Texas Tech QB Sorsby's Alleged Betting

State gaming regulators in multiple states have launched investigations into Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby's alleged betting activity, regulatory officials told ESPN. Both the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) and Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) are investigating Sorsby, who played at Indiana and Cincinnati before transferring to Texas Tech this offseason. Officials for the IGC and a spokesperson for the OCCC confirmed the investigations to ESPN but declined to provide further details.
