Preakness Stakes queries were beginning to roll in as BetOnline released odds and we received confirmation that Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo will not be racing in the second leg of the Triple Crown. Three of the top 11 queries were Preakness Stakes related. We should note there were not a significant number of impressions for the rather generic terms "preakness stakes" and "preakness odds". Even "preakness" was seeing a total of 100 impressions over the last 24 hours. This is not the greatest sign for the upcoming race. Detroit Red Wings and Sandro Tonali search queries were also pretty solid here at G911. Our soccer coverage overall at Gambling911.com is expanding due to such increased popularity, so stay tuned.

Police Arrest 11 People in Maple Ridge, British Columbia Gambling House Investigation

Police have busted an alleged illegal gambling house in Maple Ridge, seizing a poker paraphernalia, cash, and a firearm. As a result of a six-month investigation and searches by multiple police teams 11 people were arrested. In November 2025, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia’s (CFSEU-BC) Joint Illegal Gaming Investigation Team (JIGIT) started an investigation into the suspected gaming house. “Illegal gaming houses are not harmless operations – they are often tied to organized crime and bring significant risks to public safety,” said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, police media relations officer. “These locations can become hubs for violence, exploitation, and other criminal activity, putting both patrons and surrounding communities in danger.”

Hantavirus is a rare but potentially serious viral infection spread mainly through contact with infected rodents or their droppings, urine, or saliva. Three passengers have died in an outbreak on board a Dutch cruise ship. Not everyone is thrilled with the Polymarket Hatavirus pandemic betting market.

A One Time Gambling Mecca in California is Set to Shut Down

Primm Valley Casino Resorts, the last full-time casino in the town of Primm on Interstate 15 at the California-Nevada border, is permanently closing. Termination notices were sent to employees on Tuesday. The letter, posted by Las Vegas Locally, noted that employees who work at Primm Valley are set to be terminated by July 4. Primm Valley was the last of three operating casino resorts in Primm, formerly known as State Line, that included Whiskey Pete’s and Buffalo Bill’s. It first opened in 1977, though the more expansive resort was added in 1990 and 1994, respectively.

Gambling Regulators Probe Texas Tech QB Sorsby's Alleged Betting

State gaming regulators in multiple states have launched investigations into Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby's alleged betting activity, regulatory officials told ESPN. Both the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) and Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) are investigating Sorsby, who played at Indiana and Cincinnati before transferring to Texas Tech this offseason. Officials for the IGC and a spokesperson for the OCCC confirmed the investigations to ESPN but declined to provide further details.
