ATP Halle (Germany) – Quarterfinals

Thursday June 18, 2026 (8:43 pm EDT)

ATP Halle (Germany) – Quarterfinals
Ben Shelton vs. Taylor Fritz

This is arguably the match of the day. Shelton just beat Fritz in the Stuttgart final last week and enters on a six-match winning streak. Fritz has looked sharp in Halle, setting up an immediate rematch between two of the best grass-court players on tour.

Alexander Zverev vs. Raphael Collignon

Fresh off his French Open title, Zverev has advanced to the Halle quarterfinals and remains the hometown favorite. Every match he plays this week is drawing major attention as Wimbledon approaches.

Daniil Medvedev vs. Daniel Altmaier

Medvedev has not dropped a set in Halle and faces an in-form Altmaier, who upset Hubert Hurkacz to reach the quarterfinals.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs. Frances Tiafoe

A matchup featuring two explosive athletes and strong grass-court resumes. Auger-Aliassime entered the week as one of the tournament favorites.

World Cup

Türkiye v Paraguay

Thursday June 18, 2026 (8:18 pm EDT)

One of the biggest disappointments of this year's World Cup thus far, Türkiye was supposed to easily beat Australia.  Instead, Australia and USA were now in the best position to advance (with both playing each other on Friday).  Türkiye has an opportunity to redeem itself after losing 2-0 to Australia when they face off against Paraguay.  The latter lost to the USA 4-1 last Friday.

World Cup

Brazil vs. Haiti

Thursday June 18, 2026 (8:18 pm EDT)

Following their 1-1 draw with Morocco, Brazil has an opportunity to improve their shot at advancing with a win against Haiti. The oddsmakers believe this will happen as they've made Brazil a big -1000 favorite.  Top goalscorer markets include Vinicius Junior, Raphinha, Matheus Cunha and Luiz Henrique.

World Cup

Scotland v Morocco

Thursday June 18, 2026 (8:18 pm EDT)

Scotland is surprisingly ahead in their group that includes mighty Brazil.  They won against Haiti 1-0 and come into their match versus Morocco promising a payout of US$425 for every US$100 bet as the big underdog. Scott McTominay scored the lone goal for Scotland and would pay out US$1200 for every US$100 bet to score the first goal of this game and close to US$500 to score an anytime goal.  Morocco drew with Brazil 1-1.  Youssef En-Nesyri scored in that one.  There were no odds offered on En-Nesyri at this time.

World Cup

USA vs. Australia

Thursday June 18, 2026 (8:18 pm EDT)

USA and Australia are both well positioned to advance out of the group stage but the winner in this one will almost certainly move forward.  USA beat Paraguay 4-1 while Australia beat favorites Türkiye 2-0.  USA is the -170 favorite here while Australia would pay out just better than US$400 on a US$100 bet.  Goalscorer prop bets are available for Christian Pulisic, Folarin Balogun, Tim Weah and Weston McKennie, each of whom scored goals last week against Paragauy.

Prediction Markets (Kentucky)

Kentucky Becomes Latest State to Sue Kalshi, Polymarket, VGW in Crackdown on Prediction Markets and Sweeps

Thursday June 18, 2026 (3:07 pm EDT)

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office filed three lawsuits in circuit court this week, targeting Kalshi and Polymarket on the prediction market side and VGW’s Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand Slots on the sweepstakes side. The commonwealth says the companies are serving Kentuckians while avoiding licensing, taxes, and consumer protections required under state law.  Kentucky made headlines in 2008 when they attempted to seize over 100 online gambling-related domain names.

Brendan Sorsby Drops Lawsuit Against NCAA After Getting an injunction to Play Despite Gambling

Thursday June 18, 2026 (3:07 pm EDT)

Brendan Sorsby has dropped his lawsuit against the NCAA, making the quarterback ineligible again and ending his college career because of gambling. The expected motion for dismissal of the suit was filed Thursday by the 99th District Court in Lubbock County. That was three days after Texas Tech said he wouldn't play this fall, and exactly a month after Sorsby filed his lawsuit that set off a legal saga that rattled college sports.  That Texas court issued a temporary injunction June 8 that made the transfer quarterback eligible to play even after admitting that he placed bets on his own team while at Indiana as a freshman four years ago. Those were among thousands of impermissible bets he made while in college.
