Gambler Gets Life Sentence for Tossing Headless Body Into Suitcase

A “cruel and ruthless” killer has been sentenced to life for murdering his friend, dismembering the body and stuffing it in a suitcase.  As if that weren’t bad enough, the vicious killer went on to steal his dead friend’s identity.

Ming Jiang assumed successful investor Yang Liu’s identity then went on to text the dead man’s mother back in China saying he was well.

Jiang even used Liu’s credit card to purchase the petrol poured over the suitcase to set it ablaze.

Afterwards, Jiang drew large sums from the victim’s bank account and attempted to sell his £185,000 flat in order to pay off massive casino debts.

In sentencing Jiang, the judge said: “Your high spending, high rolling behaviour was in fact a selfish and self-centred veneer behind which you hid a life of increasing dependency on debt which was rapidly spinning out of control.

“The estimated losses you accumulated ran into hundreds of thousands of pounds.”
