Esports bookmaker announces esports betting statistics

LOOT.BET, a bookmaker specialising in esports betting, has released an analysis of the previous year's esports betting statistics, with well-known skin gambling games such as those on popular CSGO raffle sites that have made big increases this year.

Esports bets on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive were the most popular in 2020, accounting for more than 53% of all bets made on LOOT.BET.

Dota 2 came in second with 35% of the vote, followed by League of Legends with 7%.

For the most popular games, LOOT.BET users chose ESL One Road to Rio (CS:GO), Epic League (Dota 2), and Legends Pro League (LPL) Summer (League of Legends).

FIFA, formerly one of the least popular games, came in fourth, and VALORANT, a relative newcomer to the esports scene, came in seventh, beating out well-known competitions like Overwatch and Rocket League.

League of Legends took the lead in average bet size with €32.34 (£28.81), followed by King of Glory and Call of Duty. CS:GO and Dota 2, the most popular games, came in 10th and 11th place, respectively, with sales of €21.41 and €20.64.

The most money a bettor has ever made on a winning LOOT.BET wager has been €6,520 (roughly £5,808), with only €20 (roughly £17.82) at risk and a total of 327 odds.

Natus Vincere (CS:GO), Team Nigma (Dota 2), and T1 (League of Legends) were the top three contenders. Team Liquid (CS: GO), Just Error (Dota 2), and Victory Five (League of Legends) had the largest average bet sizes, while Heroic (CS:GO), Team Aster (Dota 2), and DAMWON Gaming had the largest maximum bet sizes (League of Legends).

Sprout (CSGO), VP.Prodigy (Dota 2), and FlyQuest won the most money overall (League of Legends). Fnatic (CS:GO), Team Nigma (Dota 2), and FunPlus Phoenix were the most disappointing to bettors (League of Legends).

CS:Gambit, GO's Dota 2's 496 Gaming, and League of Legends' LDLC OL led the pack in terms of profit per euro spent, while CS: Team GO's Singularity, Dota 2's B8, and League of Legends' Team Vitality finished at the other end of the spectrum.

LOOT.BET also shared statistics for countries, showing that the luckiest bettors were Ukrainians, Swedes, and Hungarians, while the unluckiest users were from Spain, Canada, and South Korea.

The most active were Hungary, Japan, and Switzerland, with the least active being Poland, Russia, and Ukraine based on the same metric.

India, the Philippines, and Poland all had the highest median odds. There was a three-way tie at the bottom of the rankings between Spain, Indonesia, and South Korea.

LOOT.BET grew significantly despite many esports events in 2020 being postponed or cancelled because of the pandemic. The bookmaker's betting volumes increased by 67% last year, while the number of active users increased by 58%.
