This was a tweet from a sports gambler named Eric, who referenced what appear to be new rules from the sportsbook.

The DraftKings policy reads as follows: 

"Any bet(s) accepted by DraftKings at the time of or after an announcement has been made or information has been released where (a) the announcement affects the odds for the bet, and (b) the odds for the bet have not yet been updated on the DraftKings platform to reflect the announcement or information.  For example only, if an announcement has been made that the starting running back of a football Game is not going to play in the Game, any bets on the backup running back after such announcement was made, but before the odds on such backup running back have been updated on the DraftKings platform to reflect the announcement is an Error."

BetBash organizer and professional sports gambler, Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos, was quick to chime in on his own social media platform. 

"The bettor is being punished for his research and left holding the bag for the bookmaker’s incompetence.  Incompetence and fat fingering/system error are not one and the same. And yet at every regulator/legislator gaming conference I attend, the offshore bookmaker is villainized. Will the players rights ever be considered?"

One sports bettor highlighted just how rich of a move this is on DraftKings part. 

"Really shocking coming from the company complaining about 12% hold because it’s not high enough."

• Crew Arrested for Allegedly Stalking, Robbing Nearly 20 Poker Players in Houston This Year - Four suspects allegedly followed a 70-year-old man who had just left Lucky J's back to his home, where they attempted to rob the poker player. • Slotbola88, Inibet77, and Rajaspin Administrators Face Up to 20 Years Behind Bars - The Cyber Crime Directorate of the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency revealed the roles of three suspects in an alleged international online gambling case operating through the websites Slotbola88, Inibet77, and Rajaspin.  The Director of the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji revealed only the initials of the alleged administrators behind each site with the punishment under Indonesian law potentially up to 20 years in prison. According to Aji, the uncovering of this international online gambling case resulted from the arrest of five online gamblers who had defrauded gambling sites by the Yogyakarta Regional Police on July 10, 2025. Funds and assets were also seized. 
   
• 4 charged, 18 Others Detained in Illegal Gambling Operation in Southeast Bexar County, Texas - Four suspects were charged in connection with an illegal gambling operation after deputies conducted a raid and detained 18 other people, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.  The sheriff’s office said three employees at the operation, including Randy Hinojosa, Jason Garcia and Jacqueline Gonzalez, face charges.  Hinojosa, Garcia and Gonzalez were charged with gambling promotion, keeping a gambling place, possession of gambling para-device and gambling-organized crime, the sheriff’s office stated.  Jeannete Zavala was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution after locking doors in an attempt to obstruct deputies during the raid, BCSO said.
   
• Ex-Colts Quarterback Art Schlichter, 65, Pleads Guilty to Felony Cocaine Possession -  Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Art Schlichter pleaded guilty Monday to felony drug possession charges that stem from a 2024 traffic stop where Schlichter handed over a crack pipe to police, who then found cocaine in his car.   Schlichter was sentenced to two years of community control, also known as probation, by Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Judge Chris Brown. Schlichter will be required to have weekly drug tests as part of his community control sentence.

• Odds Now Available on Taylor Swift Engagement Post on Instagram Becoming the Most Liked - Swift's Tuesday announcement of her engagement to Kelce shattered records, garnering over 20 million likes (and counting) along with 1 million reposts in under six hours. It is so far ranking among the most viral moments in Instagram's history.  As of early Wednesday afternoon, that number had surpassed 30 million. To date, the Instagram post with the most likes is Lionel Messi's post celebrating Argentina's 2022 FIFA World Cup win. • Minimum Bets and Fees Announced for Illinois Sportsbooks - Beginning September 1, Caesars will implement their 25-cent fee on every online wager placed in Illinois after that state imposed up to a 40% tax rate.  They follow a handful of other books, including market leaders FanDuel and DraftKings, that will now charge a 25-cent fee.  Others, like Circa Sports, have opted instead on a $10 minimum wager.
   
• Missouri Sports Betting on Track -  The Missouri Gaming Commission (MGC) didn’t discuss the sportsbook rollout during a roughly 45-minute meeting. The MGC previously approved the launch timeline - and is required by law to have the state’s first legal sportsbooks approved by Dec. 1 - but it nevertheless underscores continued progress.  After originally targeting a June launch date, the MGC had to push it back to December after a request for “emergency” regulation approval was rejected by the Missouri Secretary of State. • NFL Says No Players Were Suspended Last Season for Violating Gambling Policy - The policy, which bars all NFL personnel from playing daily fantasy football, or sharing inside information with anyone, remained unchanged heading into the 2025 season.
   
• Revealed: Gambling Logos and Ads Seen Up to Every 13 Seconds During Biig Sports Games in US - The study by researchers at the University of Bristol analyzed gambling marketing during the six Stanley Cup finals games this year between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers, and the seven NBA finals games between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Across those 13 games, researchers recorded 6,282 instances of gambling-related marketing. This included gambling company logos on jerseys, rinkside and courtside ads, in-game mentions and commercials. Notably 94% of the instances were recorded during the NHL broadcasts. Punnat Punsri won the tournament, although a heads-up chop had been arranged.  He then took second for €292,398 to Jeremy Ausmus in a 45-entrant €20,000 No-Limit Hold'em tournament two days later.  Two days after that, he finished second again in the 50-entrant €30,000 Super High Roller Warm-Up.  And finally, Coleman was runner up in a €100,000 buy-in EPT Super High Roller for €1,148,755 the next day. • Las Vegas Congresswoman Susie Lee or ex-Husband Dumped Casino Stock Before Big Sell-Off - A new congressional filing indicates Lee, who represents a portion of the casino-laden Las Vegas Valley, sold $500K to $1 million worth of Full House shares on July 22 — barely more than two weeks before the stock plunged on a downbeat second-quarter earnings report. The politician (or her ex-husband) may have saved $300K by selling on July 22 before the stock plunged 25% on August 8, according to the Stock Insider app. By trimming exposure to the regional casino operator on July 22, Lee sold at the stock’s highest prices since late February, getting out ahead of the carnage that arrived just weeks later. Casino.org reached out to Lee’s office with a request for comment, but it wasn’t returned prior to publication of this article.  Lee’s ex-husband, Dan Lee, is the chief executive officer of Full House Resorts and it’s possible the aforementioned trade was executed on his behalf. The congresswoman has previously disclosed trades in gaming equities that were tied to her former spouse, not directly to her.  Since the start of this year, one of the Lees has engaged in transactions involving seven other consumer cyclical stocks besides Full House — a group including a quartet of gaming equities.
