Things are getting real ugly real quick at the Lodge Card Club in Round Rock, Texas.

The venue, which is part owned by poker pro Doug Polk, was raided during the early morning hours on Tuesday.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) conducted the raid of the largest card room in the Lone Star State, ordering customers to exit with their chips.

By Thursday morning, the venue issued a statement to all customers advising that the poke club had been shut down by authorities, at least temporarily.

"Our attorneys are working to understand the reasons behind the search but at this time, the situation has not been explained to us," the statement read.

"This is obviously upsetting, and until this situation is fully understood, The Lodge Card Club is closed," the email continued.

Polk called the action by the TABC a "witch hunt".

But by Thursday afternoon, PokerNews was reporting exclusively that the business is under investigation for alleged money laundering.

"A raid targeting The Lodge Card Club in Texas was over suspected money laundering and illegal gambling, a statement to PokerNews from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) confirms."

This remains a highly fluid situation.  Stay with Gambling911.com for continuing coverage.
