The WNBA certainly is seeing a surge in betting.  We can thank Caitlin Clark to a great extent.

There was a time not too long ago you'd be hard pressed to find player prop bets for the WNBA.  Now they are readily available.

Again, Clark has helped boost the league's popularity.

Sam Panayotovich of Fox Sports refers to Clark as a "magnet for money".

American sports bettors can’t stop and won’t stop betting the Indiana Fever superstar on a daily basis, regardless of matchup or opponent.

Bookmakers are already lining Clark’s point props around O/U 22.5 and juicing her 3-pointer props to Pluto. You’ll have to lay prices of -125 or higher, so the house can vacuum more profit when she doesn’t cash.

Clark isn’t the league’s highest scorer, and she doesn’t make the most 3-pointers per game. But she’s arguably the most dangerous player with the ball in her hands because of her ability to get buckets or set up others.

WNBA MVP futures are also hot.

BetMGM has Clark favored to be named the league MVP.

Caitlin Clark: -105 (bet $10 to win $19.52 total)
Naphessa Collier: +200 (bet $10 to win $30 total)
A’ja Wilson: +400 (bet $10 to win $50 total)
Breanna Stewart: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
Sabrina Ionescu: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
Kelsey Plum: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
Satou Sabally: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
Gabby Williams: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)

It's interesting to note that the WNBA is not exactly shying away from the betting component.

"Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever Pave Way for Increased WNBA Betting Interest" was the blaring headline on the WNBA's own website May 17.

Sites like BetMGM believe they have a good thing going with the league kicking off this month.

“Our futures have definitely been influenced by the popularity of the Fever/Clark,” BetMGM trader Hannah Luther said. “Contrary to last season, we think the Fever have a legitimate chance at the title. So, we are taking a bit more proactive action to mitigate our liabilities on them.”

“Clark’s odds to win MVP have also been influenced by public interest, but not nearly as much as the Fever outright,” Luther added. “We opened with her at pretty short odds, knowing she is one of the strongest players in the league."
