For sports bettors throughout the United States, Sunday night will begin a five day frenzy of placing bets, organizing office pools and entering million dollar bracket contests like those found at Sportsbetting.com (see website here).  For online gambling websites, the NCAA Basketball Tournament typically results in a jolt to their revenue stream.

Based on recent major betting events such as the Super Bowl and Oscars, March Madness should result in an increase of wagering volume based on last year's numbers.

The brackets will be released on Sunday in conjunction with the much anticipated Selection Sunday (7 pm EST).

"Usually our traffic is substantial from Sunday through Thursday," says Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.  Games begin on Thursday and most people hold off placing bets until the first round of March Madness has completed.  "There will be some wagering activity during the round as well though," O'Brien added.

The four days leading into the first round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament will give a good idea how the 2010 betting season turns out.

Every type of bet was being offered on the Tournament at Sportsbetting.com here
