JustBet.com Just Down… For Two Weeks

During the height of March Madness 2009, the Costa Rican-based Tradewinds post up arm, JustBet.com, has been down almost the entire time.

"Players who typically join ‘fly by night' outfits might be a little scared about this new brand, but in truth JustBet.com is associated with a group that's been offshore longer than most, around 15 years actually," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.

What's happening with JustBet.com's website is unclear at press time.  Gambling911.com had a chance to stop by their office complex three weeks ago and the future was looking bright as JustBet was looking to make an impact in the online world.

The problem facing JustBet over the last several months is one plaguing the entire industry:  a shortage of reliable firms looking to process funds both in and out of the establishment.  That's not for lack of financial stability but rather the restrictions brought on by the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act passed into law in October 2006.

The JustBet.com website is still accessible via their mirror set up in Costa Rica - http://www.justbet.co.cr/

"The site is down in both the U.S. and in Holland where the Gambling911.com crew is spending much of their week," said O'Brien.  "In addition to the cash processing issues, they will likely need to upgrade their software."

The JustBet.com site appeared to be up and running in Costa Rica, which may explain why the issue was not immediately recognized.  It was unclear why more customers had not notified the company however.
