A jury will begin deliberating the fate of a Connecticut woman accused of trying to arrange the murder of her husband.

Prosecutors claim Tiffany Stevens of Bloomfield offered to pay John McDaid $5000 to kill her ex-husband, Eric Stevens.  He survived and testified in court this past week.  A recording also exists of the plot, however, defense attorneys brought in a witness who says it is possible that tape was edited.

Eric Stevens has been portrayed as an abusive husband who gambled away millions.

$50 million in assets reportedly exists and will be available to the parent who gains custody of the couple’s young daughter.  Some family members of Tiffany’s dispute the fund actually exists.

The 22-minute recording features Tiffany Stevens allegedly asking McDaid about progress on the plot to kill Eric Stevens.

"Get it done. I paid you up front," Tiffany Stevens is heard saying on the recording. "I'll give you a bonus. Just get it done."
