Wednesday’s quadruple murder in Guilderland, New York may be tied to illegal gambling, authorities said this weekend.

The adult victims of the crime were identified as 39-year-old Jin Feng Chen and his wife 38-year-old Hai Yan Li.  Two children were also murdered including a seven-year-old male, and a ten-year-old male.  Authorities released the names of the two young victims over the weekend; Anthony and Eddy Chen.

The home at 1846 Western Ave. remains taped off as police continue to collect forensic evidence.  Meanwhile, next door tenants of the murdered family moved out of their home fearing further retribution after revealing that Jin Feng Chen’s father is the landlord of the property.

A source tells News10 that a special task force from New York City specializing in gangs is assisting with the investigation.  Two separate law enforcement officials say detectives are working on a theory that illegal gambling may have played a role in the killings.
