The French Euromillions site was hacked and defaced with notations suggesting its “sinful” nature.

From the Register:

A group identifying itself as the “Moroccanghosts” hacking crew posted messages decrying the lottery as the work of the devil in both French and Arabic after breaking into the euromillions.fr website.

A verse from the Koran was also cited throughout.

Oh you believers. Wine, games of chance, statues all augur impurity and are the work of the devil.

France has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe.

Euromillions.fr now redirects to https://www.fdj.fr, the secure website of the firm that runs the Euromillions lottery in France – the FDJ Group.
