The son of one-time Genovese Crime boss Arthur (Artie) Nigro was arrested in the Bronx Wednesday for promoting a sexual performance of a child under the age of 17.

Joseph Nigro, 35, possessed images of children under 16-years-old having sex on his computer, according to law enforcement officials.

The elder Nigro once ordered the death of Massachusetts crime boss Adolfo (Big Al) Bruno and conspired to kill two other men believed to have ratted him out to the FBI.

The Genovese Crime Family has extensive roots in the world of illegal gambling.
