PHILADELPHIA (Associated Press) — A jury weighing mob racketeering charges in Philadelphia is back at work after a chaotic week in which two jurors were replaced and a foreman quit the post.

The government hopes to send 73-year-old reputed mob boss Joseph "Uncle Joe" Ligambi and six others to prison. Ligambi has been held without bail since his 2011 arrest.

They are charged with sports betting, loansharking, making threats and seizing control of a rival's video poker machines.

The long weekend break follows a tumultuous second week of deliberations.

Two alternates have been seated in the last week, after one juror fell ill and another said she knew a defense witness to be not credible.

Two other jurors were replaced during the two-month evidence phase, one after a mob-linked slaying in South Philadelphia made headlines.
