New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has been adamant that he does not want casinos anywhere outside of Atlantic City.  Nevertheless, a state Assembly committee will convene at the Meadowlands Racetrack next week to discuss the potential of casino gambling in North Jersey.

"We're all committed definitely to the four- to five-year plan we have in Atlantic City to see the revitalization of that taking place there," said Ramos, D-Hoboken. "So it's really a setup for down the road where we could be prepared to strike as soon as everyone comes on board."

As part of the bigger picture, New Jersey is expected to be among the first states to legalize online poker this fall provided Governor Christie signs such legislation into law.

Christie has already expressed his support for legalized sports betting in the Garden State.
