There are two things we can be assured of in this life:  Death and that casino magnate Sheldon Adelson will not go away quietly.  He is the gift that keeps on giving.  The relentless billionaire continues to push his agenda against legalizing Web gambling in the US, but this time he may have gone way over the line (so to speak).

On Tuesday, Adelson released a draft of his legislation that would prevent the activity.

But wait!

Adelson is not even in Congress, or an elected official for that matter.

What gives?

Well folks, apart from being a casino mogul, Mr. Adelson just happens to be one of the biggest donors to the GOP party.  That has to qualify for something, we here at Gambling911.com will presume.

It’s a bill to “restore long-standing United States policy that the Wire Act prohibits Internet gambling to give Congress and the public time to fully examine the issues surrounding Internet gambling, including the potential for money laundering, fraud, terrorism financing, cyber-crimes and participation by minors, and for other purposes”.

Aside from Adelson not being a member of Congress, he’s a bit behind the eight-ball when it comes to this topic.  Three states have already legalized online gambling with others sure to follow, albeit slowly.

Here is the draft legislation in its entirety
