Adam Silver Talks Legalized Betting on the NBA With ESPN

NBA commissioner Adam Silver sits down with Andy Katz on "Outside The Lines" to discuss disciplinary issues facing the league, teams wanting to lose to obtain a higher Draft pick and the issue of legalized sports betting on the NBA.

Flashback November of this past year.  Silver raised plenty of eyebrows throughout the sports world and beyond with his opt-in piece appearing in the New York Times supporting the notion that sports betting should be legalized in the U.S. and how it would help increase the National Basketball Association’s popularity.

“I wrote that article to try to break the ice a little bit,” Silver admitted.  “My point is there’s massive sports betting going on in this country.  If it’s going on….let’s regulate it the same way we do a lot of other industries.”
