A Queens grand Jury has indicted 17 people from three states in connection to the operation of an illegal sports betting ring.

Those charged reside in New York, California and Nevada.  Some of those named in the indictment were still being sought.  Fourteen people, including three people from New York state, are in custody. Authorities say the remaining three are still being sought.

The illegal sports betting site was operated out of Panama City, Panama using the domain name 365Action.com.

The investigation into the alleged ring began in February 2014. Authorities say the defendants used an off-shore Internet gambling website and accepted bets on sports including college basketball, football, hockey and baseball.  The business was said to have taken in some $32 million per year.
