Sportsbook.com has released odds on whether Michael Sam will appear on the St. Louis Rams Game 1 regular season roster in 2014.  Those odds were priced at -115 for both the Yes and No.

Sam became the first openly gay NFL player though he made his announcement prior to being drafted into the league.  He is yet to play in any games.

The St. Louis Rams selected Sam during the final day of the Draft.

He is also a former co-SEC Defensive Player of the Year, having played with the Mizzou Tigers.  There were doubts cast on whether Sam would be chosen following a lackluster performance at the NFL Combine.  He is also widely regarded as "too small", the same thing they said about Saints starting quarterback Drew Brees, who helped guide that franchise to their first ever Super Bowl win.

Michael Sam, assuming he performs adequately, should be a near “lock” for the 53-man roster, writes Nathan Kearns of RamblinFan.com.

He adds: "So with Matt Conrath potentially on the block and an “extra” spot on the depth chart in the front-seven, courtesy of Will Witherspoon, there are already handful of gaps where Michael Sam can, and likely will, fit."

The “Yes” is looking mighty good with that assessment.
