Heading into the season, FSU was a -250 favorite to compete in the playoffs.  One would have to bet $25 to win $10 (the $25 is refunded should Florida State make it in).

The Oregon Ducks making it into the playoffs has much better value, paying $16.50 for every $10 bet.

Alabama pays $12, Ohio State pays $12, Auburn pays $25, Oklahoma pays $13 and UCLA pays $50 for every $10 bet.

Under the new playoff system instituted this year, four teams play in two semifinal games, with the winners advancing to the College Football Championship game.

Six bowl games rotate as hosts of the semi-finals games.

The two semifinals plus the other four top-tier bowls are marketed as the "New Year's Six".

The championship game is played on the first Monday that is six or more days after the semifinals.

The playoff system is the first time the top-level NCAA football championship is determined by a bracket competition.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

Bet on Jared Verse Draft Position

Jared Verse had an over/under selection number of 15.5 with CBS Sports believing the Florida State EDGE will be chosen by the Seattle Seahawks at No. 16.
