What the Bookies Are Saying: Panthers vs. Jets Betting Odds

Resident bookmaking expert Tony Caliente discusses Sunday’s NFL game between the Panthers and Jets.

Normally a 4-6 team wouldn’t have us too excited going up against a Playoffs contender but the Jets were supposed to have won no more than 3 regular season games, and even the one’s they lost were mostly competitive.

Gamblers are still all over Carolina with their 7-3 record Straight Up.  They are 6-4 Against The Spread while New York is 6-3-1 ATS, a demonstration as to just how well the Jets have beaten expecations this season.

The NFL Power Ratings are not so kind to the Jets as they have them among the bottom five teams.  Carolina at -5 on the road may make some degree of sense (a few books have the number at either -5.5 or 4.5).

Those same Power Ratings suggest Carolina should be closer to a -6.5 to -7 point favorite.

Books are trying to get more money on the Jets, and this speaks volumes.

Expect Carolina with a win and cover here.
