Friday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN 2

Connecticut will try for their first-ever win against West Virginia as they host the Mountaineers on Friday night.  The Huskies have been far better at home this college football season as they have gone 3-0 compared to 0-4 on the road. Both teams are coming off disappointing losses last week so each should be fired up for this prime time matchup on ESPN 2.

West Virginia is coming off a shocking home loss last week to Syracuse.  The loss knocked the Mountaineers out of the Top 25 and now no Big East team is ranked.  West Virginia is led by running back Noel Devine who has 626 rushing yards this NCAA football season and quarterback Geno Smith who has 15 TD passes on the year.

Connecticut was shut out last week at Louisville 26-0. It was a sorry effort from the Huskies as they were held scoreless for the first time since 2005.

The problem for Connecticut last week was that starting quarterback Cody Endres was suspended for the rest of the season.  Redshirt freshman Mike Box had to make his first start and was really bad.  Zach Frazer came on in relief and was a little better although it didn’t matter.  The Huskies do have a good running back though in Jordan Todman who has 841 yards and eight touchdowns this year.  Box will not play in this game because he suffered an injury in last week’s game so it will be Frazer at quarterback on Friday.

West Virginia has won all six meetings in the series against Connecticut including 28-24 last year. Here are more football betting statsfor Friday’s game. The Mountaineers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games. The Mountaineers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 Friday games. The Mountaineers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a road favorite. The Mountaineers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings against Connecticut.

The Huskies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog. The Huskies are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games in October.

The Under is 5-1 in the Mountaineers last 6 conference games. The Over is 7-1 in the Huskies last 8 conference games. The Over is 14-3 in the Huskies last 17 home games. The Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between the two teams.
