Week 12 NFL Fantasy Waiver Wire – Josh McCown: Bucs vs. Bears Line Opens -6

When it comes to the Week 12 fantasy waiver wire, be sure to consider Tampa Bay starting quarterback Josh McCown.  The Bucs vs. Bears line opened at -6 for those looking to bet this game. Unless you happen to be a hardcore fan of either team, really the only reason to watch Tampa Bay vs. Chicago would be for betting and fantasy purposes.

XNSports.com writes of McCown:

(Owned in 20 percent of Yahoo leagues): We urged you to pick up McCown for two weeks last but he’s still available if you missed out on his strong effort against the Redskins.

In two games since returning to the starting job, McCown has completed 64 percent of his passes for 589 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 47 yards on the ground.

Of course, he’s done that against two woeful defenses in the Falcons and Redskins. Luckily, he now gets to face the Bears, who have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season.

The Bears have allowed at least one touchdown to every passer they’ve faced and have surrendered a ridiculous 14 passing touchdowns over the last four weeks, compared to just one interception.

McCown ranks at the middle of the pack among quarterbacks on ESPN.com’s Week 12 fantasy rankings, just released.

On the betting front, Chicago and Tampa last met each other in 2011 with the Bears on the road and favored by 1.5 points.  They beat the Bucs by six points.

The Bears are 0-6 Against The Spread in their last 6 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game.
