The Brett Favre saga continues….as does the Darrelle Revis saga in New York.

Despite news Monday that Revis is unlikely to play for the Jets, Sportsbetting.com has kept odds up on the Jets winning the AFC East at +150.  That’s slightly off from the Patriots at +130.

“They are essentially co-favorites to win the division still,” points out Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “Can anyone say Miami Dolphins?”

The Dolphins might be the wild card here just as the Cincinnati Bengals were in their respective division.  Miami would pay 3/1 odds.

A grim-faced Woody Johnson said he's not optimistic about their chances of signing the All-Pro cornerback to a new contract before the start of the regular season.

"The answer is no," the Jets' owner said tersely, adding, "My impression is no progress ... no movement whatsoever."

Revis is just as pivotal to the Jets winning this season as Favre is to the Minnesota Vikings finding victory. Revis is widely considered the best cover corner in the league and he's certainly the key to New York's defense.

Revis is seeking to become the highest-paid cornerback in the league, surpassing the Oakland Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha ($15.1 million average per year).

Meanwhile, on the Favre front, the veteran quarterback decided not to announce his retirement last week after pleas from the Vikings organization and players to reconsider, Foxsports.com reported on Monday.

That could be some good news.

The Favre factor is great enough in that Sportsbetting.com has withheld odds on the NFC North for the past couple of days.
