Thanksgiving NFL Games

Thanksgiving NFL games for 2009 and odds on each included the following:

DETROIT vs. Green Bay (no odds available at press time)

DALLAS -13 ½ vs. Oakland

New York (Giants) -6 DENVER

Two of these Thanksgiving NFL games can be bet on at betED.com heading into Tuesday morning.  Odds on Green Bay vs. Detroit were not available due to Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford potentially out for this one with an injury.

As always, the Thanksgiving Day gridiron tradition starts with the Detroit Lions, who this year host the NFC North rival Green Bay Packers in one of a trio of NFL games (12:30 pm ET, FOX).

Unfortunately for Detroit backers, this season has been one big turkey, as the Lions limp into Week 12 with a 2-8 SU (2-7-1 ATS) record.

But the Lions did pick up a win on Sunday, albeit a squeaker against the equally inept Cleveland Browns. Detroit edged Cleveland 38-37 as 3-point home favorites.

Green Bay got past the San Francisco 49ers 30-24 on Sunday. The score was a push, as Green Bay had been 6-point home favorites.

Green Bay is a dominating 9-1 SU and 6-4 ATS in the past 10 meetings, and shut out the Lions 26-0 in their last meeting on Oct. 18 at Lambeau Field.

Next up on the Thanksgiving menu is the Oakland Raiders visiting the Dallas Cowboys (4:15 pm ET, CBS).

Dallas opened as a 13.5-point favorite and that line was holding solid for the most part.

This will be the first meeting between the teams in more than four years, since a 19-13 Oakland win on Oct. 2, 2005. The Raiders are 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS in the past four meetings.

And the last serving of football on Thanksgiving Thursday features the New York Giants visiting the Denver Broncos (8:20 pm ET, NFL Network).

New York is a 6.5-point NFL Betting favorite.

The Giants and Broncos are also virtual strangers to each other. They last met on Oct. 23, 2005, when the Giants edged the Broncos 24-23. New York is 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS over the past three meetings.
