Steelers vs. Cardinals Line

The Steelers vs. Cardinals line was coming in at -3.5 in favor of the visiting Pittsburgh team.   This one might move up further as the Steelers were receiving just under 90 percent of the spread backing from bettors.

Considering the Steelers come into Arizona with a 4-2 record while the Cardinals struggle with just one win on the season, it’s a wonder why the line on this game is so low.  This one almost cries out “trap”.

Pittsburgh did manage a 4 point win against the Cardinals in Arizona two years ago.   They are, however, 0-5 Against The Spread in their last 5 games following a Straight Up win.

The Steelers are also 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games.

The Cardinals, meanwhile, are16-5-1 Against The Spread in their last 22 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0 and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as a home underdog.  They are just 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games overall, however.

Tony Bryant of BetOnline.com:

“A close win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football didn’t inspire much confidence, and when the Steelers followed that up with a loss to the Houston Texans, there were many that felt the Super Bowl hangover had caught up to this team. Pittsburgh has bounced back with a couple of victories, but in order to prove that theory wrong they will need to win on the road. The Steelers’ defense ranks first in the NFL against the pass with an average of just 157.7 yards against per game, and with Arizona struggling to move the ball on the ground this contest could come down to how well Ben Roethlisberger and the offense can move the ball without turning it over.”
