Soldier Field Temperature at Near Zero With Packers Seeing Most Betting Exposure

The Packers were coming in as a -4 visiting favorite with the total dipping down to 38.5.
Green Bay was providing the most exposure to bookies with nearly 85 percent of the action coming their way.
Coldest Soldier Field Games
Today’s game could be one of the coldest played at Soldier Field with temps falling from 9 degrees to near 3 degrees by the game’s end.
When all is said and done, this is likely to have been the 4th or 5th coldest game played in Chicago.
The coldest was back in 2008 when the Bears beat the Packers in overtime, 20-17. That one was played three days before Christmas with the temperature dipping down to 2 degrees.
A game played in 1993, also against the Packers, took place with a temperature of 3 degrees.
A game played in January of 1988 saw a temperature dip to 4 degrees. The Redskins won 21-17.
Soldier Field Temperature Trends
With today’s total set at 38.5, we look back to see how many of these cold weather games played at Soldier Field have stayed UNDER this total.
The answer is HALF of them so, in the end, the total has been adjusted accordingly but there were cold weather games that have gone well OVER 40 in the past.
That being said, the UNDER is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings between these two teams with the last two staying UNDER the current number but five previous games going OVER the current 38.5 number.
The UNDER though is 5-0 in the Bears last 5 vs. NFC North, 15-7 in the Packers last 22 vs. NFC, 12-3 in Packers last 15 games following a straight up win and 6-2 in Packers last 8 vs. the NFC North.
The UNDER is also 6-1 in the Bears last 7 games following a Straight Up loss.
