Raiders-Jaguars Spread

The Raiders-Jaguars spread has been set at -4 in a game featuring two of the most unpredictable teams in the league.

Just when we thought Oakland was going to drastically improve, they lose at home against the Dolphins only to go on the road and beat a team for the second time this season, the Chargers, for whom they hadn’t beaten for several years previous.

Likewise, Jacksonville suffers from a bit of an identity crisis.

They also lost two weeks ago in New York against the Giants only to come back and win last week in Tennessee.

The Jags are now 7-5 and one game ahead of Indianapolis in the AFC South.  Oakland comes into this game with their best record in years at 6-6, two games behind Kansas City but very much in the Playoffs race if they can pull off a win this week.

In any event, the gambling public likes the Raiders on the money line, which would pay out $17 for every $10 bet with an outright win at BetUS.com.  Spread action was even for both sides.  The UNDER 43 was getting 60 percent of the action.

Some important trends for the Raiders-Jaguars game included:

Jacksonville dismantled Oakland in 2007 but there were no recent games since between these two teams.

The Raiders are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog.

They are a dismal 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 14 however.

Jacksonville is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

The Jaguars are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 home games.

Jacksonville is 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points.
