The Pittsburgh Steelers 2011 Super Bowl odds have been installed at 20/1 coming into the new season at BetUS.com (see odds here).

Good value?  Perhaps, considering it is the off-the-field antics of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger which has cast doubt on the Steelers success.

They were on a rollercoaster ride the end of last season, with most of the trip going down.

The same thing happened after their previous Super Bowl win, however, and Pittsburgh did manage to turn it all around.

“In recent years the Steelers have always opened with single digit odds so 20/1 odds for a team that hasn’t changed much since winning the Super Bowl just two years ago is certainly great value,” points out Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com. “10 starters are back from Super Bowl XL and 20 from XLIII in fact.”

The first four to six weeks will probably give us some clue as to how this team will perform the remainder of the season.  That’s because Big Ben is suspended for a four to six week period.  Santonio Holmes trade has also impacted the odds.

The weak areas on this team are the offensive linesmen, running backs and specialists.  Aside from the obvious quarterback concerns, the rest of Pittsburgh is solid as a rock.

A 2011 Super Bowl win may be a reach but OVER 8 ½ wins at -130 seems to us like a given assuming Roethlisberger doesn’t complete unravel and barring any injuries.

Just a quick note:  The Steelers pay $25 for every $10 bet to win the AFC North and, on paper at least, this still looks like the team that can do it.
