Sure the Raiders are just plain awful this season...again. But the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Oakland Raiders line of -14 is absolutely nuts. Of course, we know Oakland isn't the double digit favorite. Philadelphia comes into this game as a huge road favorite.
When the Raiders were good back in 2001, they were a pick playing in Philadelphia and beat the Eagles by 20-10.
When they were bad in 2005, Oakland was a +9 underdog coming into Philadelphia and they managed to cover with a loss of only a field goal.
Gambling911.com has a record worse than the Raiders. We've managed to go 0-10 over the last two weeks with our picks...and we won't be picking this game only because we don't feel comfortable with the Eagles at this big a spread nor do we feel so inclined to ride the Raiders. But read into this what you will. Oakland certainly has a good shot of covering in this game.
ESPN.com AccuScore Simulations suggests that if Philadelphia has 3+ turnovers and Oakland has none the Raiders have a 57 percent chance of winning this game.
Keep in mind, the Raiders did play two good games to start the season.
