Patriots and Broncos Playoff Hopes: What’s at Stake

The defending Super Bowl champions Broncos (8-5) come into this game against New England as the sixth (and final) seed in the AFC, but the Miami Dolphins are now 9-5 after a win against the Jets Saturday night and could overtake the Broncos if tiebreakers shift in their favor. Three more AFC teams have seven wins apiece.

“We’re going to have to play exceptional from here on, especially this week,” said Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak, who added that he viewed New England as “the best team in football.”

The Patriots (11-2) enter the game with the best record in the AFC.  They are still two games ahead of Miami and will win the division with a victory today.   They would also clinch a first-round bye with a win today.

This will be the most wagered on game of the week with New England seeing 80 percent of the action.  The Pats are a huge exposure for the books as they have been throughout much of this season.

Patriots vs. Broncos Head to Head Trends

Broncos defeated the Pats 20-18 in last season's AFC Conference Championship so revenge will be fresh on the Patriots minds.

The home team has won the last seven games in this series with Denver winning three of the last four.

The Patriots are 1-6 Against The Spread in their last 7 meetings in Denver.
