Patriots-Bears Game Weather Impacts Betting

With snow and strong winds expected for the Patriots-Bears game Sunday, the total has seen a drop from 44.5 to 38 across the board.  The spread itself, which has New England as a -3 road favorite, has not been impacted significantly.  Only a handful of online sportsbooks and hardly any of the Vegas establishments have moved the line down a half point.

Action on the total at 38 was even for the most part coming into Sunday’s game.  New England was getting just shy of 75 percent action on the spread while the Bears were getting around 65 percent of the backing on the money line, which would pay out $12 for every $10 bet with an outright win for Chicago.

There was a greater-than 80 percent chance of snow and strong winds during the game.  The winds of 30 mph are likely to impact this game the most as it applies to the total scoring.

The Patriots were the most wagered on team in the NFL this weekend.
