Ohio State vs. Wisconsin Spread

The Ohio State vs. Wisconsin spread opened at a relatively low number considering the Buckeyes number one ranking this week.  Ohio State comes to town as a -4 favorite.  Both teams are ranked and this promises to be one of the best games of the Week.  Early action had Ohio State getting just shy of 90 percent of the betting action in this game.  This is widely expected to be one of the most bet on games of Week 7.

Ohio State got the cold shoulder on Monday when the ESPN top 10 placed them in 5th place. Ohio State was expected to have 3/1 odds of winning the 2011 BCS Championship when BetUS.com releases its prices on Tuesday.

A win by the Badgers vs. Ohio State will certainly make an important statement.

"To go against an opponent at a level that Ohio State has been able to uphold for so long is going to be a nice measuring stick," Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema said Monday. "I think our guys will have that in the back of their minds and move forward. Hopefully, everybody will be at a position to be at their best on Saturday."

Ohio State has won the last three in this series.  Their road game in Wisconsin two years ago was won by just three points.  They were a -1 favorite in that one.

Some important trends to consider before betting on the Ohio State vs. Wisconsin spread:

The Buckeyes are 13-4 ATS after playing a conference game over the last three seasons while Wisconsin is just 1-5 ATS this season.

Here are some more vital stats to review before betting on this game:

The Buckeyes are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games as a road favorite of 3.5-10.0.

Ohio State is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.

The Buckeyes are 23-4 ATS in their last 27 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

While many will want to bet the spread on this game, there is tremendous value in the total, which will open around 49.  10 of 13 games in this series have gone UNDER THE TOTAL since 1992. – Ean Lamb, Gambling911.com
