Odds to Win the 2017 AFC West – Week 14: Chiefs, Raiders, Chargers Still In

This one looked like a runaway for the Kansas City Chiefs just a few weeks back but suddenly both the Raiders and Chargers are not only in the running, the three teams are in a three-way tie for the lead of the AFC West.

Unlike the NFC South, which is competitive both within the division and in the league overall, the AFC West has no team with a winning record.  This should change in Week 14 with the Raiders facing the Chiefs in Kansas City (assuming no tie).

Los Angeles could share the lead with a win against Washington Sunday.  They have won three straight while Oakland has won their last two and KC have lost their last four.

The Chargers close the season versus four teams (KC included) that do not currently have winning records.  Playing in Kansas City and at the Meadowlands against a decent Jets team won’t be easy though.

The Raiders game in KC won’t be a cakewalk.  They also host Dallas but the biggest obstacle standing in their way of a division win will likely be a road game in Philadelphia in Week 16.  We’ll assume this is still going to be a meaningful game for the Eagles.

Kansas City will host the Chargers in one of their four remaining games.  They also face off against the Dolphins with a final week game in Denver.  This is by far the easiest remaining schedule for either of these three teams, at least on paper.
