Odds on Whether Roger Goodell Gets Canned at nearly 1-3

Bookmaker.eu Monday morning released odds on whether NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will still be the NFL Commissioner at the start of the 2015-2016 season and the verdict is a very big NO.

Goodell has come under fire for the way in which he has handled the matter involving former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice.

The disgraced Ravens star was initially suspended for two games back in February when it was learned he had assaulted his then fiancé in an Atlantic City casino elevator.  A tape released to the public just last week shows Rice clocking his fiancé and rendering her unconscious.  Goodell insists he never saw that video but others with knowledge of the investigation claim he has.

Goodell was also a “no show” at Sunday night’s Bears-49ers game to usher in San Francisco’s new stadium, thus prompting further speculation that he may be on his way out.

From the Huffington Post:

Facing intense criticism in light of the Ray Rice probe, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly intends to renege on a long-standing promise to attend the San Francisco 49ers' season opener at Levi's Stadium on Sunday, according to Comcast Sportsnet.

"I think [Goodell is] scheduled to come," 49ers President Paraag Marathe told NBC Bay Area's Raj Mathai on Friday night. "He usually comes to most stadium openings, so I expect him to."

Odds that Goodell will still be NFL Commissioner by the start of next season were at 2/1.
