Seattle picked up a big win in Week 13 to get their regular season record back to even in what has been a very good first season under new head coach Pete Carroll.

Now, the Seahawks will look to take another step toward winning an improbable NFC West division title by beating the underachieving Niners when they square off at Candlestick Park at 4:05 PM ET.

Here is a look at the key head-to-head trends surrounding this matchup.

•Under is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings.

•Seahawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.

•Underdog is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.

The Seahawks jumped all over the beleaguered Carolina Panthers in Week 13 to win 31-14 and cash in against the online sports book odds as a 5-point home favorite and snap their two-game SU and ATS losing streak.

Veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck played poorly as he tossed two interceptions in the win, but the Seahawks got three rushing touchdowns from Marshawn Lynch in the win.

San Francisco was smacked around badly in its 34-16 Week 13 loss to Green Bay and never came close to covering the online sports  book odds as a 9-point road underdog while allowing Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers to throw three TD passes in the win.

Prediction: The Seahawks have won two straight over the Niners and three of the last four meetings overall and I like them to cash in against the NFL online sports book odds against the Niners again as a near, touchdown road dog in large part, because they are a much better offensive team than San Francisco.

Seattle has scored at least 24 points in three of its last four games while scoring 31 points or more in two of those contests. San Francisco has not scored more than 27 points in any game this season and I don’t like their offense one iota, not to mention the fact that Frisco is going back to Alex Smith as its starting quarterback for this contest after starting troy Smith the last few weeks.

I think Pete Carroll will have his team more than ready to play as they know a win here will help them get one step closer to winning the NFC West in their very first season of their rebuilding plan under Carroll.

NFL Picks: Seattle Seahawks +5.5 Points
