NFL Draft 2014 Betting Odds: 1st Round Picks Totals, Running Backs Pay 7-1

BetOnline began offering a handful of NFL Draft 2014 betting odds for the 1st round picks, mostly in the form of totals:  OVER and UNDER.

BetOnline

Odds on how many defensive backs will be selected during the 1st round had the OVER/UNDER set at 7.5 with the OVER paying $16.50 for every $10 bet.

BOL does not believe that any running backs will be selected during the 1st round and have made this a -1200 favorite.  One or more running backs selected during the 1st round would pay out $70 for every $10 bet.

This would follow a similar trend to last year where not a single running back was drafted into the first round.  The year before there were three selected in the 1st round.

The position is viewed as being in decline.

Conor Orr of the Newark Star Ledger notes:

Teams are more dependent on a stable of backs, believing that a few pairs of fresh legs are better than one Cadillac that takes all the miles.
