As weak as the NFC is expected to be again in 2009 when compared to the AFC, the New York Giants stand one of the better chances of winning the conference and potentially playing in the Super Bowl once more.  The New York Giants odds to win the 2010 Super Bowl were at +1100 for a payout potential of $1100 on every $100 bet now at SBG Global.

There is every reason to believe the Giants are heading on a path to the Super Bowl.  They have a star quarterback in Eli Manning and their defense is air tight.

Despite the loss of defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo to the St. Louis Rams, the defense looks as deep as they did in 2007 when the Giants won the Super Bowl.  The Giants promoted linebackers coach Bill Sheridan as the new defensive coordinator.

On offense, the Giants led the NFL in rushing behind Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward, the later of whom has gone off to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

One of the main questions facing the New York Giants is what will become of their star Plaxico Burress, who suffered from a self-inflicted gun shot wound and was facing felony gun charges.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen thinks free agent WR Plaxico Burress will be suspended by the NFL for one year.
Mortensen expects Roger Goodell to make a decision on Plax this week.

Manning may have looked a little suspect last season without Burress playing, but the Giants still managed an 11-1 start, so let's not get too carried away with the Eli Manning bashing.

The oddsmakers at SBG Global also have the Giants winning OVER 9 ½ games during the 2009 regular season.

The Giants do not have any type of wiggle room like what may be found in the NFC West with the Arizona Cardinals.  New York plays in one of the most competitive divisions.  Oddsmakers at SBG Global have the long shot Washington Redskins favored to win more than 8 games
