Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly is being labeled “Mr. Irrelevant” after being selected last in the 2017 NFL Draft. But he’s far from irrelevant.
The Denver Broncos get Kelly No. 253 overall. They were listed with odds of 18-1 coming into the Draft and these could be slashed further.
Pleading guilty to a disorderly conduct charge two years ago helped seal his fate at this year’s Draft but he’s still a capable quarterback.
On talent alone, Kelly likely would have been a mid-round selection.
Kelly gets a parade in his honor for being chosen last.
